Bio

Iain Gilmour was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and is a self taught photographer specialising in monochromatic landscapes, people and architecture. He studied geology at the University of Saint Andrews, which introduced him to some of the marvelous landscapes of his native Scotland and kindled a life long interest in landscape photography. Whenever possible, he likes to stand on the shoulders of the masters of black and white photography, drawing inspiration from the works of Michael Kenna, Edward Weston, Hiroshi Sugimoto and others. However, most of all he draws his inspiration from the time spent in beautiful places with his wife and fellow photographer Mabs.
